Time is flying by so quickly, I thought another favourite classic would do the trick for this week.

One of my favourite songs. Sad that we won't be hearing anymore from Elliott Smith.

I think this is another example of a song that can be read in different ways. So, I will say nothing about my interpretation.

This song isn't just about the lyrics though, Patrick's vocals and the flow/rhythm changes make the song amazing too. The live version is good, but the CD version is excellent!

Just a song I've had in my head all week. My favourite part of the song has to be when he says "in that case I'll have rum and coca-cola". For such a fun song, the meaning is pretty deep.

During the past year, I have made friends with not one, not two, but three Texans. Since hearing that one of them will be going home for an extended stay, I have had this song in my head. It will be sad having her gone for so long, but it's just one of those things that needs to be done. So, I hope that she will accomplish all of her goals and will "come back to Sweden" quickly when she is done.

I thought I would do another Matthew Good Band song. A fun, classic, Canadian song: Rico.

I had to do a song from The Crüe this week, because after being a fan for 20 years (holy crap!), I am FINALLY going to see them live. Yes, they are coming to Stockholm in June! Even though they aren't really known for their lyrical ability, the song I chose says it all.

When we started this band
All we needed, needed was a laugh
Years gone by...I'd say we've kicked some ass
When I'm enraged
Or hittin' the stage
Adrenaline rushing
Through my veins
And I'd say we're still kickin' ass

What a crappy week. It's just been another one of those weeks that you think is never going to end. Is it wrong that I'm a little tipsy and it isn't even 5:30pm? I asked Erik to make his world famous ice cream drinks so we could sit outside and relax. That's what we did, and now I think it's naptime. Pics to follow in a few minutes. For now, here is the song that sums up the week.

Since buying the Foo Fighter's Skin & Bones DVD, I have been singing the title track non-stop. I knew that it was going to be my choice of song for this friday's found lyrics. Erik and I just went out for a quick supper through drive-thru and decided to take a little drive to unwind a little bit. I took the day off work to get better since I've been barely surviving my cold all week (actually my co-workers told me to go home yesterday and to take today off to get better) and Erik had a long week too, trying to get over his jetlag. During our drive, a dog ran out in front of our car. At first we thought he made it because no one could find him and it felt like the car just clipped him. It wasn't long until his owner (a teenage girl) came along for him. We found the dog, Lilo, dead in the ditch. He must have just been able to get that far before giving up. The owner had two other dogs with her and was just about home from a walk with them. The dog must have just been running home the rest of the way. I have been an emotional wreck since it happened and Erik seems like he has just folded up into himself. He's gone to bed.

Anyway, this song is even more perfect for today because it just reminds me how fragile we all are.

I'm so sorry Lilo and family.

Erik is coming home in about an hour, so I don't have enough time to do a proper "Found Lyrics Friday", so I will give you something to watch and listen to, from Youtube, of course.

It's something that I saw recently on MTV. Loved it and searched for it. I was surprised to find out that the artist/dj, Erik Prydz, is Swedish. Bonus! It's such a good video and a fun remake of Pink Floyd's "Another Brick in the Wall". It's called "Proper Education".

I wanted to show Disney's "Rhapsody in Blue" too, since I've been obsessed with it since Fantasia 2000, but the videos have been removed from Youtube. I hope nobody got into trouble.
